Fire door work, done properly
I've been on the tools since 1989 and picked up fire door work as building safety rules tightened. These days most of my work is split between landlords and letting agents needing compliance, and builders or property managers needing new doors fitted to spec.
One person on the job
When you call, you get me — not a call centre. When I turn up in Yorkshire, I'm the one doing the survey, the fit, and the paperwork. Nothing gets lost between sales and the tradesperson, because there isn't one.
FireQual qualified inspector
I hold the FireQual Fire Door Inspector qualification, CSCS Gold Card, and 35+ years on the tools. Reports are accepted by insurers, Responsible Persons and enforcement officers.
Written compliance reports
Every inspection comes with a written report — door leaf, frame, seals, gaps, hinges, closer, ironmongery — against BS 8214 / Approved Document B. Photos included. You can hand it straight to your insurer or RP.

Most of my work is within Yorkshire and the Yorkshire region, so I know the housing stock and can usually fit jobs in quickly. Emergency callouts available where capacity allows.

How I work
A proper conversation first
Give me a call or drop a message. I'd rather spend ten minutes understanding what you actually need than send a generic form back. If it's a small repair, I might be able to quote over the phone.
Site visit and quote
For anything bigger than a single door I'll come and look. Visits in Yorkshire are usually free. You'll get a written quote with a clear scope — what I'm doing, what I'm not, and what it'll cost.
The work itself
I turn up when I said I would. I clean up after myself. I tell you straight away if something surfaces that wasn't in the quote — I don't spring extras at the end.
Paperwork and aftercare
Written report, photos, and certification where relevant — delivered by email so you've got something to hand your insurer or RP. If something goes wrong within the guarantee period, I come back.
